Health and Safety

Bali Belly (diarrhoea) Don't drink the tap water, eat at places that cook as you go. Read my "Preventing Bali Belly" page in the Eating & Entertainment section.
Parasites It is estimated that 80+ % of all people in Bali have parasites and these are easily passed on by food handlers. There is no guarantee of prevention so it is best to take care of parasites by routinely taking a dose of anti-parasite medicine.
Don't drink the tap water Brush your teeth only with boiled or bottled water, never with water from the tap. Even the locals don't drink the tap water. Bottled water is available everywhere, is extremely cheap, and usually called "Aqua".
When Showering Be sure to dry yourself well and you may wish to apply a medicated body powder to avoid the unpleasantness of skin fungus.
Bali "Bath" (unless you request western-style)
