Here are my secret tips to prepare you for the uniqueness that is Bali.
Hiya, I'm Penny and I travel on a budget.. you won't find much reference to any of the fancy expensive places in Bali here, but if you're travelling cheap like me, you will find the best tips and bargains!
You also won't find fancy posters of what the travel agents want you to think Bali is like.. nope, I have the pictures of what it's really like, a third world country with their ancient culture semi-existing into the modern world. Bali is fascinating, a bit smelly, a bit naive, scary and exciting!
I'm in the process of converting my Bali diary with all my hot tips into an organised website, I'll be adding "real bali" photos and telling it how it really is. You will be fully prepared and if you read the entire site, you won't be shocked or ripped off when you step off that plane into the humid, spicy, scary vibed airport.
Don't expect 1st class service or a Caribbean holiday, Bali is nothing like that, but I believe it is so much better! If you're hot-tempered, fussy or don't have a sense of humour, Bali is probably not for you, but if quirkiness and friendly people is your cup of tea, then you will love Bali with a passion.
PS: Please note that I'm Aussie, and mostly refer to Australian companies, laws, prices, and times throughout the site, so when I say.. "it costs less than $7!".. I mean "less than AUD $7.00" unless otherwise specified.
